Sony is entering the hand held game market in winter 2004 with the PSP (PlayStation Portable). It has a backlit 16:9 wide screen LCD, a Universal Media Device (UMD) which can store 1.8GB of data on a disc that’s half the size of a CD. It will support Sony's own ATRAC sound format, used in Mini Discs. It will also have a secure ROM cartridge to aid in Anti-Piracy.
